Snippet Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-15
Snippet ("the app") lets you browse Bible verses, turn them into shareable cards, and save them. This policy explains what data the app handles.
What we collect
Nothing, if you stay signed out. Without an account, your settings and saved cards stay on your device.
If you sign in with Google (optional), Firebase Authentication receives your Google account ID, name and email address. We use them only to identify your account and show your name in the app.
Saved cards. Cards you save while signed in (the verse text and a save timestamp) are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your account, so they sync across devices. Only you can read or change them.
Remote Config. The app fetches the verse of the day and announcements from Firebase Remote Config. Firebase generates an app installation identifier for this. We do not use it to identify you personally.
On-device only: your reminder time and preferences, and the notifications the app schedules locally. Images you export are saved to your device gallery or shared through the app you choose. We do not receive them.
We do not use advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and we do not sell your data.
Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you of the daily verse, if you turn it on.
- Storage / photos: only to save an exported card image to your gallery.
- Run at startup: to restore scheduled reminders after you restart your phone.
Who processes your data
Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config) processes data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms. Data may be processed in countries other than yours, under safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete it. In the app, go to Profile → Delete account and data. You can also request deletion at snippetverses.app/delete-account or by emailing support@snippetverses.app; we will act on requests within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or Uganda under the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact support@snippetverses.app to exercise them.
Children
Snippet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
We will update the date above when this policy changes and tell you in the app if the change is material.
